OctoberOctober is a breathtaking month and proves to the weary gardener, burnt out by the summer's heat and exhausted from lugging garden hoses to and fro, that a revival is taking place! There is nothing like that crisp feeling in the air and the glorious fall colors of the trees to wake us up!
Oranges, reds and yellows dominate the landscape - goldenrod lights up the roadsides and displays of pumpkins, chrysanthemums and bales of hay are common around the neighborhood. It is a wonderful time to just sit back and admire the colorful fall garden but important chores must be done. Leaves must be raked, new shrubs and trees planted and it is time to put the garden to bed. But, just like early spring, this is a nice time to be working in the garden.
